Portugal postpones renewables-plus-storage auctions

Portugal is preparing tenders to allocate 1,050 MVA of grid injection capacity to energy storage, including 750 MVA for standalone batteries and 300 MVA for renewables with co-located storage. The procedures, delayed following a public consultation, form part of Portugal’s push to expand storage capacity and integrate more renewable energy into the grid.
